a love downstream

Consumed by desires for you
I overlook your every flaw
Until it is possible to question their existence

My emotions slowly become attached
To your interactions with me

Constant dreams of you plague my night
And you be come the daily feature of my thoughts

I recycle excuses
For our lack of connection
And hope that the feelings secretly flow both ways

Every morning becomes the potential day
That infatuation become love.

I wrote this poem in class for a writing exercise. We had to write in the style of Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself"
